Honey Sriracha Chicken

Ingredients

  • For the Honey Sriracha Sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tbsp sriracha or 2 tbsp for a sweeter taste
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp honey or 2 tbsp for a spicier taste
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • For the Chicken
  • 4 chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or any cooking oil of your choice

Directions

  1. For the Honey Sriracha Sauce

  2. First prepare the chicken, cleaning and cutting into bite sized pieces. Set it aside.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, stir together water, sriracha, soy sauce, garlic, sugar, and honey. Bring to a boil.
  4. In a small bowl, create slurry by whisking together 2 tablespoons each of cornstarch and water.
  5. Add the slurry to the saucepan, whisking together until thickened, then reduce heat to low.
  6. For the Chicken

  7. In a large plastic bag, pour in the 1/3 cup cornstarch and the diced chicken. Seal the bag and shake until the chicken is completely coated in cornstarch.
  8. In a large skillet, warm oil over medium high heat. Add chicken to skillet, then saute until chicken is cooked through and breading is golden brown, about 5-10 minutes.
  9. Putting it All Together

  10. Add the chicken to the saucepan with the honey sirarcha sauce, tossing to coat.
  11. Serve immediately.
