INDIAN CHICKPEAS

Ingredients

  • 2 T vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 T minced fresh ginger root
  • 1/8 tsp. garam masala
  • 2 tsp. channa
  • 1 large tomato, seeded and chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 (15.5 oz) cans garbanzo beans, drained & rinsed
  • salt to taste

Directions

  1. Heat oil in saucepan over medium-high heat.

  2. Stir in garlic, onion & ginger and cook til browned

  3. Stir in garam masala, channa masala spice, tomato, water, and garbanzos.

  4. Season to taste with salt.

  5. Bring to simmer, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer until garbanzos are very soft, at least 20 minutes.
