marinated Shrimp

Serves 6 people

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 quarts water
  • 3 lbs. unpeeled, medium-size fresh shrimp
  • 2 small green bell peppers
  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seeds
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. hot sauce

Directions

  1. n Bring 2 1/2 quarts water to a boil; add shrimp, and cook 3 to 5 minutes or just until shrimp turn pink. Drain; rinse with cold water. Peel shrimp, and devein, if desired.
  2. Cut bell peppers and onions into strips. Place in a zip-top plastic bag; add shrimp. Combine vinegar and next 5 ingredients; pour over shrimp mixture. Seal bag, and chill 8 hours, turning occasionally.
