Garlic- Cheese Grits

Serves 8 people

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 garlic cloves, pressed
  • 1 cup uncooked regular grits
  • 1 (12 oz.) block sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. seasoned pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. hot sauce
  • 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • Paprika

Directions

  1. Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan; gradually stir in grits. Return to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes or until thickened.

  2. Add cheese and next 4 ingredients, stirring until cheese melts. Remove from heat; let stand 10 minutes.

  3. Stir in eggs, and pour into a lightly greased 11 × 7-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with paprika

  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until set.
