Turkey and white bean chili

Cook time: 60 minutes
Serves 8 people

Ingredients

  • l med onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin
  • 1/2 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1.5 lbs 99% lean ground turkey
  • 1 qt white beans
  • 2 cups of fat free chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup of fat free sour cream
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Cook turkey, onions, garlic and brown.Add salt, chili powder, cumin, oregano, red pepper flakes, beans, broth, cook uncovered about 10 minutes.

  2. Lower heat and cover, simmer about 45 minutes mixing occasionally. Add sour cream and cook 5 more minutes. Adjust seasoning and salt to taste.

  3. Top with chopped red onion, chopped fresh cilantro, light sour cream, jalapeƱos and reduced fat cheddar if desired.
