Lasagne

Ingredients

  • 2 T olive oil
  • 2 small onions, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1T salt
  • 1 can tomatoes (1lb, 12oz)
  • 1 T basil leaves
  • 1/2 t oregano
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 12 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 c water
  • 3 c ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c grated Parmesan
  • 2 T parsley
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 lb thinly sliced mozzarella
  • 1lb cooked lasagne noodles

Directions

  1. Saute onions in oil, add garlic at end. add meat and brown until crumbly. Drain Fat. Then add tomatoes and seasonings and simmer 1/2 hour. Add past and water, simmer 1/2 hour longer and set aside.

  2. Mix Ricotta, Parmesan, parsley and eggs.

  3. Place thin layer of meat at bottom of pan then 1/2 the noodles,all of the cheese mixture,1/2 the mozzarella, 1/2 the remaining meat, then noodles, meat and mozzarrella.

  4. Bake at 350F for 1/2-1 hour
