Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs fillet of beef
  • 1 T butter
  • 3/4 T grated onion
  • 2 T butter
  • 3/4 lbs sliced mushrooms
  • salt and pepper
  • grating of nutmeg
  • 1/2 t basil
  • 1/2 c warm(room temp) sour cream

Directions

  1. Cut beef into 1/2 inch slices. Pound until about 1 inch wide. Melt 1 T butter in pan and saute onions for 2 minutes. Add beef and cook for 5 minutes, until browned. Remove and keep hot. Add 2T butter to pan and saute mushrooms. Add beef, salt, pepper, nutmeg and basil. Add the sour cream and heat.
