Strawberry Sherbet

Ingredients

  • 2 10oz. pkg. frozen strawberries un quick-thaw pouch, thawed
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk

Directions

  1. Into small saucepan, drain 1/2 cup strawberry syrup. Sprinkle gelatin evenly over syrup; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until gelatin is completely dissolved.
  2. In large bowl, stir gelatin mixture, strawberries and remaining syrup and buttermilk until well combined. Cover bowl and freeze mixture until partially frozen, about 1 1/2 hours.
  3. With mixer at medium speed, beat mixture until smooth but still frozen, scraping bowl with rubber spatula. Cover and freeze 2 hours longer or until firm. (If firm, let sherbet stand at room temperature about 10 minutes for easier serving.)
