How to prepare Spaghetti Squash

This isn’t a recipe, just a way to prepare the squash for any recipe you may desire.

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 spaghetti squash (buy bright yellow and dark, not a pale color)

Directions

  1. For easier slicing in half, pierce with a fork and microwave 30 seconds to 1 minute.

  2. Cut lengthwise.

  3. Place cut side down in casserole dish.

  4. Add 3/4 inches of water.

  5. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes, until skin is pliable.

  6. Remove seeds then scrape with a fork to remove the squash strands.

  7. Chill until ready to use in a recipe.

  8. OR, simply remove seeds and chill without shredding the squash. Simply wait until you are ready to use in a recipe. Cover the cut halves in clear wrap to refrigerate.
