Snowballs

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2-3 cups whole wheat flour (larger amount for less greasy cookies)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts, optional
  • powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

  2. Add vanilla and 2-5 tablespoons water (add larger amount for less greasy cookies).

  3. Mix in flour.

  4. Mix in nuts (optional)

  5. Dough will be very stiff. Refrigerate at least 2 hours.

  6. Preheat oven to 325°F.

  7. Roll dough into walnut-sized balls and arrange on an ungreased baking sheet.

  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned on the bottom.

  9. Let cool.

  10. Store cookies buried in powdered sugar in an airtight container.
