Bert’s River Farm Barbecue Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 whole chicken fryers, cut in half
  • 2 tbsp garlic salt
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • Baste:
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp instant onions
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire
  • 1 tsp dry mustard

Directions

  1. Mix garlic, salt, paprika and pepper. Sprinkle over chicken, covering entirely.

  2. Place chicken on grill, skin-side up, over medium-hot. Cover and grill 30 minutes. Turn and cook another 15 minutes.

  3. While chicken is grilling, mix all baste ingredients in small saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil, then turn down heat and simmer 10 minutes.

  4. When chicken is tender, baste entire surface and cook another 5 minutes. Turn and baste again. Chicken is done when it has a good glaze on it.
