Jambalaya Mix

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
  • 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
  • 1 Tbsp. green pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 Tsp. beef bouillon granules
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. dried crushed red pepper

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients; store in an airtight container.
  2. makes 1 1/2 cups

  3. Jambalaya: Bring Jambalaya Mix, 3 cups water, and 1 (8oz.) can tomato sauce to a boil in a Dutch oven. Stir in 1 cup chopped cooked chicken and 1 cup chopped cooked ham or smoked sausage. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Remove and discard bay leaf.
