Hot Fudge Sundae Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter r margarine softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Hersey's Dutch processed cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/3 cup Hersey's Dutch Processed Cocoa
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Toppings: whipped cream, chopped pecans. candied cherries

Directions

  1. Beat butter and sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended. Add eggs, beating well.
  2. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients; add to butter mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed until blended after each addition.
  3. Stir in vanilla. Pour batter evenly into 12 lightly greased muffin cups.

  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 5 minutes. Remove from pan.
  5. Cook condensed milk, 1/3 cup cocoa, and milk in a medium saucepan over low heat, whisking occasionally, 5 minutes. Serve with warm cakes topped with ice cream and desired toppings.
