Broccoli Supreme

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. fresh broccoli
  • Crème Fraiche
  • 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, cut into pieces
  • Crème Fraiche:
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Directions

  1. Remove and discard large leaves and tough ends of stalks from broccoli. Cut away tops, and coarsely chop stems.
  2. Cook broccoli in boiling, salted water to cover 8 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain.
  3. Process cooked broccoli and Crème Fraiche
  4. in a food processor or blender until smooth stopping to scrape down sides.

  5. Stir together broccoli mixture, cheese, and next 4 ingredients. Pour mixture into a lightly greased 2-quart baking dish. Dot with butter.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Serve casserole immediately.
  7. Crème Fraiche:

  8. Make a day ahead, and refrigerate overnight.
  9. Whisk together whipping cream and sour cream until blended. Cover and chill at least 4 hours.
