Vinegar Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
  • Nutmeg
  • 3 Tbsp. homemade vinegar or raw apple cider vinegar such as Bragg's

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Line a (9-inch) pie plate with the pie crust.
  2. Melt the butter; set aside.
  3. Beat the eggs in a small now; set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, blend both sugars, flour and nutmeg with your fingers until no lumps remain. Stir in vinegar, eggs, melted butter and 1 cup of water until well blended. Pour into pie shell. Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until filling is just set in the center. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
