Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- Red and green candied cherries
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well. combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture. Add extract. Using a cookie press fitted with a star-shaped disk, form dough into long ropes. Cut into 3 1/4 inch pieces; shape into wreaths. Decorate with cherries.
- Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes cool on wire racks.
