Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

(from Lucianolinda’s recipe box)

My dogs love these. I usually double the recipe, and put at least half of them in the freezer for another time.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1 cup canned pure pumpkin puree (or unsweetened apple sauce)
  • 1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, stir together peanut butter and pureed pumpkin (or apple sauce). Mix flour 1/4 cup at a time until the dough no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl.
  2. Roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper until it is 1/4 inch thick. You can cut the rolled dough into bite-size squares or use cookie cutters for cute shapes. Bake the treats for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool completely. Treats can be stored in an airtight container or in the freezer for up to three months.
