Gourmet Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 pkg. (.87 oz.) brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2
  • Tbsp. minced parsley
  • 1 Tsp. tarragon
  • 1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel

Directions

  1. Combine beef and onion; shape to form 1 1/2 inch meatballs. Sauté in butter in a large skillet until browned and cooked through. Remove to hot serving platter or chafing dish.
  2. Pour off drippings from skillet. Add water and gravy mix to skillet. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer 1 minute. Stir in cream and nutmeg. Heat to serving temperature, stir in parsley, tarragon and lemon peel. Pour over meatballs. Serve with noodles.
