Homemade sauce that you can freeze. Make dough in breadmaker.

Ingredients

  • Dough (in bread maker),Ingredients are listed for either 1 sm, 1 lg or 2 sm. You can replace whole wheat flour with bread flour
  • Water 2/3 cup, 1 cup, 1 1/3 cup
  • Olive Oil 2 tsp, 1 tbs., 1 1//3 tbs.
  • Salt 1/3 tsp. 1/2 tsp. 2/3 tsp.
  • Oregano (optional)1 tsp. 1 1/2 tsp. 2 tsp.
  • Whole Wheat Flour 1 cup, 1 1/2 cups 2 cups
  • Bread Flour 1 cup, 1 1/2 cups, 2 cups
  • Yeast 1 tsp., 1 1/2 tsp. 2 1/2 tsp
  • Sauce:
  • 3 1/2 cups (28 oz) Italian Crushed/diced tomatoes
  • 1 8oz can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 tble olive oil
  • 1 med-lg chopped onion

Directions

  1. Sauté onion in olive oil until transparent (10 min)

  2. Add all ingredients except oregano

  3. Simmer uncovered 45 minutes

  4. Add oregano, simmer additional 15 minutes

  5. Remove bay leaf

  6. Prepare stone dish by brushing with light olive oil

  7. Role pizza dough out, put down in stone dish and prick with fork.

  8. Next layer cheese, then sauce

  9. Then add additional ingredients as desired.

  10. Add another layer of cheese.

  11. Lastly, scramble an egg and spread over pizza

  12. Bake at 450º for 25 minutes
