Orange Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. orange juice
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • Few grains of salt
  • 2 1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. Mix together egg yolk, orange rind and juice, vanilla and salt.
  2. Add sugar gradually, stirring until of spreading consistency.
  3. Spread between layers and on top of cake.

  4. makes enough for tops of 2 8-inch layers
