  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 scallions, chopped
  • 3 cloves crushed garlic
  • 2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 Tbsp sake or dry sherry
  • 2 Tbsp red pepper flakes


  1. You can use this mixture to marinate chickne or pork, but it is used traditionally for beef.

  2. I mix this up, pour it into a large zip-lock bag with a london broil, and then freeze it. Defrost when you want to make something magnificent on the grill!
