Tandoori for chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 1 piece fresh ginger, about an inch long
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 8 ounces plain yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp mace
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp cayenne powder (optional, ass to taste)

Directions

  1. Put onion, garlic, ginger, and lemon juice in blender or cuisinart, process until it is a smooth paste.

  2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the paste in a large container, use as a marinade for chicken, allow to marinate for 24 hours if possible.
