Orange Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp. orange peel
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 3 3/4 cups flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • Icing:
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. orange peel
  • 3 Tbsp. orange juice

Directions

  1. Mix brown sugar, butter, salt, eggs vanilla, orange juice, orange peel and milk; add flour, baking powder and baking soda. Form into 2 inch rounds. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes on a greased and floured cookie sheet.

  2. For icing: Stir all ingredients until smooth. Cool cookies completely before icing.
