Almost Instant Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups baking mix, such as Bisquick
  • 1 (12 oz.) can club soda or beer
  • 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar, optional

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine baking mix, club soda or beer and sugar, if desired. Stir just until mixed. There may be a few lumps. Do not overmix.
  2. Pour batter into a greased 9 × 4-inch loaf pan and bake at 375 degrees until brown on top and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Especially good served warm with butter. Also makes good toast the next day.

  3. Note: beer will give the bread a yeasty flavor.
