Cam’s Special Chocolate Cake

Moist and delicious chocolate cake my grandson made for his Food Tech assignment

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 45 minutes
Serves 10 people

Ingredients

  • 250 gr sugar
  • 160 gr plain flour
  • 35 gr cocoa
  • 1/2 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 150 gr sour cream
  • 80 ml water
  • 55 ml vegetable oil
  • 1/2 t vanilla essence
  • 2 x eggs

Directions

  1. Whisk all dry ingredients together.

  2. Add remaining wet ingredients, mix until combined.

  3. Whisk on higher speed for a further 3 or 4 minutes, until well mixed and lighter in colour.

  4. Bake in 20cm cake tin at 140oC, approx 45 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.

  5. Cool and ice with ganache or icing.
