Asparagus Canapes

Ingredients

  • 12 thin slices of bread
  • 6 thin slices boiled ham
  • mustard
  • 12 asparagus tips, cooked or canned
  • mayonnaise or salad dressing

Directions

  1. Preheat broiler. Remove crust from bread. Cut ham slices in half and place on bread; spread with mustard.

  2. Dip asparagus in mayonnaise or salad dressing.

  3. Place one asparagus spear at end of each prepared bread slice. Roll up lengthwise. Cut off 1-inch slices. Secure with toothpick.

  4. Place on broiler rack. Broil 3-4 inches from heat 5 minutes or until done.
