Apple Cake Topping

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup cooking oil
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3 cups chopped apples (unpeeled)

Directions

  1. Mix oil, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients and vanilla by hand. Add nuts and apples.

  2. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour in a well- greased tube or Bundt pan. Remove from oven and pour topping over cake. Return cake to oven and bake 15 minutes more. Slide knife around cake to loosen.

  4. Combine all ingredients and cook over low heat for 3 minutes after the mixture starts boiling. Pour over cake as directed.
