Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • Dough
  • 1 pkg active dry yeast softened in 1/4 C warm water
  • 1 C scalded milk=
  • add to scalded milk the Crisco, sugar and salt
  • and let melt and come to room temp
  • 1/4 C Crisco solid
  • 1/4 C sugar
  • 1 t salt
  • Add 1 1/2 C flour-beat well
  • Beat in yeast mixt and1 egg
  • add 2 1/2 C more flour and beat
  • Filling:
  • Filling for rolls: butter, sugar, cinnamon, cardamom
  • Glaze: 2 cups confectioner sugar
  • 3 T boiling water
  • Touch of cinnamon and cardamom
  • Touch vanilla ext

Directions

  1. Place dough mixture in greased bowl and let rise

  2. Divide dough in 1/2 and flatten each half (one at a time), into rectangle about 8-10 inches by 14-16 inches-using floured surface

  3. Spread with melted butter and then sugar and spice mixture.

  4. Put on greased sheet pan or better yet parchment paper lightly sprayed with Pam

  5. Let rerise

  6. Bake 375 for 11-14 minutes or until lightly golden brown on top-be careful not to burn on bottom

  7. Glaze:

  8. Drizzle on while warm

  9. Roll each rectangle long ways and cut each rectangle into 12 rolls each.

  10. Place rolls on lightly greased pan or use parchment paper.

  11. Let rise again

  12. Bake 375 for 11-14 minutes

  13. Glaze while warm
