Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops, cut 1 inch thick
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. sage
  • 1 cup finely chopped pared apple
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Directions

  1. Make a pocket in each pork chop by cutting into the pork chop along the bone. (Chops cut on this side hold stuffing better). Pour milk over bread crumbs.Stir in 1/8 tsp. salt, sage, apple, raisins, and melted butter.

  2. Stuff each chop with about 1/4 cup of apple mixture. Brown chops on both sides in butter; pour off drippings. Season chops with 1 tsp. salt and pepper. Cover lightly; cook slowly 45 to 60 minutes or until tender.
