“Biscotti”/Sandy-Cut in half

Ingredients

  • 8 C flour
  • 7 t baking powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 11/2 C sugar
  • 6 eggs beaten
  • 1 stick Buttery Crisco
  • 1 stick butter-softened
  • Chill for several hour
  • CUT RECIPE IN 1/2 FOR 70 OR SO COOKIES

Directions

  1. Bake 350 deg or 325 in conv oven

  2. Bake 15 minutes

  3. Form ball and roll out on floured counter with seran wrap on top

  4. Roll into a long rope-a little larger than a pencil

  5. Using a buttered knife, cut cookie into 1/4-1/2 inch slices.

  6. Shape into candy canes, wreath

  7. Place on non-greased cookie sheet

  8. FROSTING

  9. 1 1/2 -1 3/4 C powdered sugar

  10. 1/2 stick butter

  11. 1/2 t vanilla

  12. 2 T milk-or enough milk to get consistency wanted

  13. Color icing
