Amped – Up Red Pepper Paste

Some uses for this spicy paste include as a sauce for roast chicken, mixed into mayonnaise or shrimp and chicken salads, and tossed with potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. sweet paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. smoked paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 9 garlic cloves
  • 2 bay leaves, crumbled
  • 1 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 7 sprigs fresh cilantro
  • 5 sprigs fresh parsley
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp. white pepper
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients (except oil) in a food processor and pulse until garlic and herbs are minced. With motor running, slowly add olive oil until a thick paste forms. Spoon into a jar and refrigerate ip to a month.
