Artichokes and Herb-Cream Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh artichokes, cleaned and trimmed
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Herb-Cream Sauce:
  • 1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese with chives
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dill weed

Directions

  1. Place artichokes and water in 2-quart (12 × 7) glass baking dish. Cover with wax paper; set aside.

  2. Place cream cheese in 2-cup glass measure.

  3. Place artichokes on upper rack in microwave oven and cream cheese on bottom shelf.

  4. Microwave both for about 5 minutes, on high or until cream cheese is warm (about 100 degrees). Remove cream cheese and continue cooking artichokes for 7 to 8 minutes, on high, or until tender-crisp. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes.

  5. Meanwhile, stir remaining Herb-Cream sauce ingredients into warm cheese. Serve as dipping sauce with artichokes.
