Brown rice

Used in other recipes as a base or side dish. Often optional items are added based on the main course the rice should accompany.

Cook time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 2 cups water

Directions

  1. mix rice and water in a lidded saucepan

  2. bring to a boil and then reduce to a low simmer

  3. cook until all water is absorbed by the rice

  4. take pan off heat and let sit 5 minutes
