Applesauce Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • Bread
  • 2 1/2 c. Applesauce
  • 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
  • 3/4 brown sugar
  • 1/2 t. ground cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 t. vanilla
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • nutmeg

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. Arrange in bottom of greased 9" square pan: 2c. applesuace; 1/2 c. rasins, 1/4 c. brown sugar, 1/2 t. ground cinnamon

  3. Spread over bread. Top with: 4 additional slices dry bread

  4. Beat together: 2 eggs, 2 c. milk, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 t. vanilla, 1/4 t. salt, dash ground nutmeg

  5. Pour over bread. Top with: 1/2 c. applesauce, sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar

  6. Bake 55-60 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
