Baked Squash Halves

Serves 6 people

Ingredients

  • 3 medium acorn squashes
  • salt to taste
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • Nutmeg to taste (optional)

Directions

  1. Cut squashes in half lengthwise, remove seeds ands place halves, cut side down on cookie sheet.

  2. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 30 minutes. With spatula, turn halves cut side up. Sprinkle with brown sugar and nutmeg. Return to voen and bake 30 minutes more, or until glazed and tender.

  3. Variation: Substitute mint jelly for brown sugar for a different flavor. Delicious served with lamb.
