Balsamic Brown Butter Asparagus or Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kb. asparagus spears, trimmed OR green beans
  • salt and ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. balsamic vinegar
  • cracker black pepper

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425 degrees.

  2. For asparagus: Arrange asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake until crisp-tender, 6 to 12 minutes depending on thickness of spears.

  3. For green beans: Cook green beans in a small amount of salted water in a medium saucepan until crisp-tender.

  4. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Cook 3 minutes or until lightly browned, swirling pan occasionally. Remove from heat, stir in soy sauce and balsamic vinegar. Drizzle over asparagus or beans, tossing well to coat. Garnish with cracked pepper.
