Baked Snapper with Red Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. shortening
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • Snapper

Directions

  1. Melt shortening in heavy pan; stir in flour. Add onion and celery; cook slowly about 10 minutes. Add tomato sauce, water, vinegar and sugar. Melt butter; pour over snapper in a shallow pan/ Pour over red sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
