Banana-Chocolate Tea Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 6 bananas, mashed
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Directions

  1. Cream butter, gradually adding sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, cocoa, soda, and cinnamon; sift together.

  2. Sift flour mixture into egg mixture. Blend well. Add vanilla; stir in bananas, sour cream, walnuts and chocolate morsels.

  3. Spoon batter into 2 greased and floured 7 1/2 × 3 x2-inch loaf pans.

  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack.
