Beef Pinwheels Italiana

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground chuck
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 2/3 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 lb. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • small mushrooms for garnish if desired

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except cheese. Pat on wax paper into 12-inch squares; sprinkle with cheese, patting down a little. Roll meat into a roll. Seal edges. Refrigerate overnight.

  2. Cut into 12 slices. Broil 12 to 15 minutes 6 inches from heat source, turning once. Garnish with small mushrooms if desired
