(from castro15’s recipe box)

Categories: Asian

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. flank steak
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp. hoisin sauce
  • 3 tbsp. sherry
  • 1 tbsp. minced fresh ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. barbecue sauce
  • 16 (8-inch) skewers, soaked in water 30 minutes

Directions

  1. Freeze flank steak 30 minutes to firm up.

  2. Meanwhile, stir together green onions, soy sauce, hoisin, sherry, ginger, garlic, and barbecue sauce in a small bowl.

  3. Cut flank steak across the grain into about 48 slices. Transfer to a 1-gallon Ziploc bag and pour sauce over steak. Massage bag to mix well, then chill 2 hours.

  4. Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat. Remove steak from bag, discarding marinade, and thread 3 slices onto each skewer.

  5. Lightly oil grill grate. Grill skewers 1 minute per side for medium-rare, or to desired doneness.
