Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup non-fat dry milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2-3 cups all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. Heat water and butter to 120 degrees.

  2. In large mixer bowl combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, dry milk, eggs and warm water mixture. Mix with dough maker at highest speed for 3 minutes. (It may be necessary to scrape sides of bowl with rubber scraper and rotate slightly by hand).

  3. Add 2 1/2 cups flour and continue kneading 3 more minutes. If dough is sticky, knead in enough of remaining 1/2 cup flour to form a stiff dough.

  4. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes. Punch down.

  5. Use to make orange/date crescents or sticky rolls.
