Old-Fashioned Raisin Pudding

Ingredients

  • RUB ALL TOGETHER:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • heaping cup flour (about 1 1/4 cups)
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • butter the size of an egg (about 1/4 cup)
  • ADD:
  • 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 cup raisins
  • BOIL:
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • butter the size of an egg

Directions

  1. Pour the boiled liquid mixture into an 8 or 9 inch square cake pan.

  2. Drop the first mixture by spoonfuls into the liquid.

  3. Bake at 350F until golden brown (about 45 minutes).
