wedding cookie/russian teacakes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 C CONFECTIONERS sugar
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 C butter or margarine-not buttery crisco
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 C flour
  • 1/2 C chopped nuts
  • ROLL IN
  • additional confectioners sugar

Directions

  1. 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes

  2. Combine the 1/2 C CONFECTIONERS sugar with salt and butter and mix well

  3. Add extract

  4. Gradually add flour

  5. Work nuts into dough

  6. CHILL WELL

  7. Bake until set but not brown

  8. Roll in confectioners sugar immediately

  9. Cool on rack
