Ruth’s Hot Fudge Sauce

Serves 10 people

  • 1 C sugar
  • 1/4 cocoa
  • 1/4 C butter
  • 7/8 evaporated milk
  • 1 t vanilla


  1. Stir sugar and cocoa together over low heat for 1 1/2 minutes. Don’ melt sugar. Blend in butter until crumbly on the heat. add milk stirring constantly. Increase heat and bring to rapid boil. 1-5 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla.

  2. This recipe can also be made in the microwave successfully. Less chance of scorching. This recipe may also be doubled. Use the entire can of evaporated milk and double everything else
