Hawaiian Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef / 2/3 c cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 c chopped onions / 1/3 c canned evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp salt / 3 Tbs shortening
  • 1 #211 can pineapple tidbits
  • 1/3 c vinegar / 2 Tbs cornstarch
  • 1/2 c brown sugar / 2 Tbs soy sauce
  • 2 Tbs lemon juice

Directions

  1. Mix together, form into meatballs and brown/cook in shortening.

  2. Sauce:

  3. combine in sauce pan -

  4. pineapple tidbits, adding water to juice to make 1 c liquid.

  5. vinegar, cornstarch, brown sugar, soy sauce and lemon juice.

  6. Bring to a boil, thin with water if desired.

  7. Pour over meatballs, serve.
