Sour Dough Biscuits

  • 2 C flour
  • 2 C Starter
  • 1 C milk
  • 1/4 C sugar
  • Mix together in large non-metal mixing bowl; beat until smooth. Cover loosely with waxed paper and let stand 18 hours at room temperature. Then add:
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1/2 to 1 t salt
  • 2 T oil
  • Mix very well. Add enough flour to make workable dough. Kneed on well-floured surface until elastic. Form biscuits. Place on baking pan that has been well greased and the shortening melted, dipping biscuits in shortening. Let rise 1 hour if possible in wa
