Ingredients

  • One recipe of Mother's Parkerhouse rolls
  • Butter
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Frosting:
  • 2 C powdered sugar
  • 1/4 C butter
  • 2 T milk or cream
  • dash salt
  • Stir together until well blended and smooth.

Directions

  1. Make up a batch of Parkerhouse rolls or any sweet roll recipe. Follow instructions until they are to be shaped. On lightly floured surface, roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the entire surface. Cover with brown sugar and spread evenly. Sprinkle cinnamon on top being a generous as you like. You can mix the cinnamon and sugar together before spreading on dough. Some people like to add nuts and or raisins or other goodies. Roll like a jelly roll. Slice into 3/4 to 1 inch slices. Slicing can be done with a sharp knife or a thread. When using thread lift part of roll, put thread under then wrap around roll. Cross ends of threads and pull tight. That will slice the dough easily. Place on baking sheet or pan. Bake at 375 degrees until browned and sound hollow when tapped. Frost immediately with frosting.
