Ricotta Fritters with Maple-Cinnamon Drizzle

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh ricotta
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tbsp. orange zest, plus more for garnish
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • canola oil, for frying
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. In a bowl, whisk ricotta, milk, eggs, sugar, 1 tbsp. orange zest, and 1/4 tsp salt. Whisk in flour and baking powder. In pot, heat 2 inches of oil over medium until shimmering. Working in batches, drop 2 tbsp. batter for each fritter into hot oil. Fry, turning once, until deep golden, about 8 minutes. Drain fritters on paper towels. In saucepan, warm maple syrup with cinnamon over medium. Drizzle over fritters. Garnish with orange zest.
