Dutch Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 6-7 tart apples; i.e. Granny Smith)
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • Crumb topping:
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. cold butter
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425

  2. Place pie crust in pie plate and press into place

  3. Prick pie crust w/ fork and pre-bake 5 min.

  4. Peel and slice apples

  5. Combine next 4 ingredients and stir into apples.

  6. Spoon and mound apples into pie plate and dot w/ butter

  7. Prepare crumb topping (if using large pie plate, then double topping) and mix w/ fork until crumbly

  8. Spread over the top of the apples

  9. Place pie plate on cookie sheet to catch overflow and use pie crust protectors or tinfoil to prevent over browning

  10. Bake 50 min.
