(from castro15’s recipe box)

Categories: Pork

Ingredients

  • 4 tsp flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 4 pork chops, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 tsp Montreal steak seasoning, or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup milk

Directions

  1. Mix together flour, basil, and salt in a bowl.

  2. Melt 2 tbsp. butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sprinkle chops all over with steak seasoning; cook 7 to 10 minutes per side, or until browned but slightly pink in center. Add remaining 1 tbsp. butter as needed so that about 3 tbsp. drippings remain in skillet when chops are done. Transfer chops to a plate.

  3. Increase heat to medium-high, stir pepper into skillet with drippings, and cook 1 minute. Stir in flour mixture; continue cooking, stirring constantly, until browned, about 2 minutes. Add milk; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and bubbly, 4-6 minutes. Pour sauce over chops to serve.
